Easy Appointment Booking

START WITH YOUR BUSINESS

Two options. Different priorities.

Consider Easy Appointment Booking if…

  • Your main inventory is staff availability, rooms, tours or class capacity.
  • Intake questions, customer rescheduling and booking follow-ups are priorities.
  • You need Google Calendar, Zoom, Outlook, Klaviyo or Shopify Flow connections on eligible plans.

Consider Rentshelf if…

  • Customers reserve physical products with counted stock for multiple days.
  • Your team needs to see upcoming pickups, outstanding balances and returns together.
  • You want the rental workflow and pricing rules centered on Shopify products.

Easy Appointment Booking is a strong shortlist choice for merchants selling scheduled time and experiences. Rentshelf is a narrower physical-rental system. Choose by testing the record staff use after the customer pays: does it organize the instructor and attendees, or the item, quantity, pickup and eventual return?

RUN THE SAME TEST IN BOTH APPS

A practical comparison scorecard.

Use one representative product and record the result of each step. A published feature is useful only when it works with your inventory, theme, checkout and staff process.

01

Availability

Create overlapping requests with real quantities, variants, buffers and locations.

02

Storefront

Check date selection, unavailable states, add-ons, delivery and the amount due before checkout.

03

Payment

Follow deposits, remaining balances, refunds and any usage-based charges without assuming a status means paid.

04

Operations

Open the record staff use for preparation, pickup, a booking change and return.

05

Connected tools

Test calendar direction, privacy defaults, customer invitations and failure or reconnection behavior.

06

Migration

Confirm what imports, what remains historical and how duplicate storefront widgets are prevented during cutover.

DECISION GUIDE 01

Separate service capacity from rental stock

A staff member can deliver one appointment at a time, while ten identical chairs can support several overlapping orders until total demand reaches ten. Both are availability problems, but they require different data and different exception handling.

Build a pilot that deliberately exceeds capacity. For the service, fill the final seat or staff slot. For the rental, reserve multiple quantities across overlapping dates. The system should explain the unavailable choice before checkout and preserve the accepted quantity afterward.

  • Test a staff or class capacity limit.
  • Test overlapping multi-day product quantities.
  • Confirm the order and operational record agree.
DECISION GUIDE 02

Decide which communication is operational

Easy Appointment Booking publishes reminders, follow-ups, branded email and intake capabilities across its tiers. These can be valuable when attendance and preparation instructions determine whether a service succeeds.

Rental communication also needs dates and instructions, but staff may additionally need an internal pickup list, remaining balance and return status. Compare the customer message and the staff record separately; a strong reminder does not replace inventory control.

DECISION GUIDE 03

Plan a controlled migration

Export future bookings and identify which belong to services versus physical items. Preserve customer consent, paid amounts and existing cancellation terms. Do not assume a product CSV will recreate booking history or staff assignments.

Run both systems only for a short, documented cutover if necessary. Prevent two active widgets from accepting the same product or timeslot, and keep the old system available for historical reference until every outstanding booking is completed.

PUT IT INTO PRACTICE

An outdoor business renting tents and running guided workshops

Configure one tent rental and one workshop. The workshop needs staff, participant capacity and perhaps intake questions. The tent needs quantity across several days, accessories, collection information and a return. A single broad booking system may suit the workshop, while a focused rental workflow may better protect inventory. Do not force both jobs into one model before testing them separately.

A THOUGHTFUL SWITCH

Bring your workflow. Check the details.

01

Map your current rentals

Record upcoming bookings, inventory, paid deposits and outstanding returns. Keep a copy of your existing records.

02

Configure one real product

Match pricing, duration, availability and pickup rules. Use a representative item before configuring the whole catalog.

03

Complete a test booking

Review dates, cart, checkout, confirmation and the booking record. Coordinate the storefront cutover so two widgets do not compete.

BEFORE YOU DECIDE

Your comparison questions, answered.

When should I choose Easy Appointment Booking instead?

Your main inventory is staff availability, rooms, tours or class capacity. Intake questions, customer rescheduling and booking follow-ups are priorities. You need Google Calendar, Zoom, Outlook, Klaviyo or Shopify Flow connections on eligible plans.

How much does Rentshelf cost?

Rentshelf offers Free, Starter at $9.99/month and Growth at $19.99/month. Free includes 3 rental products, up to 3 add-ons per product and a 15-day forward calendar. Starter includes 25 products, unlimited add-ons and 90 days; Growth includes unlimited rental products and 365 days. Shopify subscription charges are separate.

Can I move from Easy Appointment Booking to Rentshelf?

Plan the switch around your existing bookings. Check product rules, stock, deposits and outstanding returns first. Rentshelf offers CSV product import on Growth, but that is not a promise of automatic booking-history migration. Contact us to review your setup before switching.

Can I test the customer experience?

Yes. Explore the live demo, then test a representative product in your own store. Check dates, unavailable periods, add-ons, payment amounts and the booking record before making rentals available to customers.

How was this comparison prepared?

Prepared by Rentshelf using official sources linked directly from the relevant claims, reviewed on September 13, 2026. These are documented capabilities, not a hands-on benchmark of every competing app. Features and plan limits can change.
