Does Rentshelf replace Shopify checkout?

  • No. Rentshelf adds rental selection and booking metadata around Shopify products while keeping the Shopify cart and checkout flow.

Can I rent and sell products in the same cart?

  • Yes. Rental products carry rental line item properties, while regular products remain standard purchase items.

Why is the rental picker not showing?

  • Check that the product is linked and active in Rentshelf, the app block is on the active product template, and the theme preview is using the same product.

Can I customize Rent Now or the rental Add to cart button?

  • Yes. Configure the default button behavior from Rentshelf Settings, or override it from the Rental Calendar Widget block in the Shopify Theme Editor.
  • Rentshelf can rename the theme Add to cart button for linked rental products, show a Choose rental dates message until dates are valid, and hide or keep dynamic checkout buttons.

Can I search and link rental products in bulk?

  • Yes. The Rental products page includes search for linked products, and the Link products popup can search Shopify products and filter by collection.
  • For large catalogs, link products in smaller batches and continue with the next batch after the first one completes.

Does Rentshelf support seasonal pricing?

  • Yes. Starter and Growth stores can create seasonal pricing rules for date ranges such as holidays, peak season, weekends, or low-season discounts.

Can customers sign in before viewing rental products?

  • Shopify customer account or locked access flows are separate storefront customization work. Rentshelf handles rental product setup, booking, checkout metadata, and operations.

How do I avoid emails going to spam?

  • Use a recognizable store name, verify the support email, keep email copy clear, and configure sender/domain authentication if using a custom From address.
